Good or Bad...

In the words of alok...it is called binary. There is a good and there is a bad. There is right and there is a wrong. There is greed and there is fear. There is clear notion around us, in all of us, that who do good to others gets good too and vice versa. I am not so convinced. Had a debate on it, and lost but still not very convinced (that means debate continues)Why it should be like this that when you do good, you get good too.Theoretically if we take up this problem, I think it is a way the world is designed by out great great grandfathers to keep it cool and calm. Undoubtedly otherwise it will all be a mess if all of us start following the bad ways. So a broad rule was formulated that the one who do good, gets good too. And later on all the laws of world, all moral stories, the whole system has followed it. Over the time from an opinion it has evolved to be a fact and now it is so much in our blood that some of the readers have already started smiling or giving dirty looks to me for such a stupid topic followed by idiotic discussion.Again coming to the above point, differentiation between an opinion and a fact is important in course to understand the social system around.Although, I feel nothing wrong they have done to save the world from bad deeds. If all of us forget the good principles taught to us and start following the wrong ones, the world will not survive even for one day.Now coming to the practical life, also I don’t see a great support to the above notion statistically that good gets good and bad gets bad. Most of the big guys around, politicians, businessmen, celebrities not really follow the right ways in their life (I know I should not generalize and there are good people among them, but they can be counted on fingers), as compared to a middle class guy who is scared of god, scared of law, scared of society, scared of etc. etc. and try to follow the correct path taught to him in school, college, by prophets. But still if you notice middle class is still by and large middle class and high is again.....by and large...So both theoretically and practically I don’t see a great support to the above methodology. But still as I said it is so much into our blood that tough to contrast it.Thanks for reading. As always your opinions are most welcome.

what kind of person i m?

I must not start this post by saying that i am a different kind of person. What kind of person you are - I have faced this question (sometimes synonyms of this like do you like it, do you hate it, what is your goal, what you want to be), since my early childhood. In fact i guess most of us are facing these questions every now and then. Even when we discuss someone else, what we discuss most is what kind of person he is, his likes, dislikes so on and so forth. I, freely in front of everyone, [shamefully :)], accept the fact that still i don't have any answer to the question that what kind of person i m. It is said by many great people that in course to know the world better, you should first know yourself. but tell me is it so easy to capture a whole personality in some worlds or in some things, or maybe in some ideas. I guess NO. Nobody in the world (I know i should not generalize it - but still I would prefer doing it) can be just himself. you are always somewhere different then what the outside world thinks and even what your inside mind thinks. So if a question is asked like "If you are truly yourself (considering both inner and outer world's definitions of yourself or ownself), the answer to it will 95% time be NO, and i don't know who are rest 5%. But even i don't think it is necessary to label you. people do it just to feel comfortable that they are surrounded by same type of persons, so they keep correlating all the things in your life to that one central idea and one day even you start believing that you are like that only. Alok (if you don't know alok, its ok, then you don't know me either), once quoted, that 90% of soft drink lovers, who claims to be "I love Coke" or otherwise "I drink just PEPSI", cant differentiate between coke and pepsi, when served to them in normal glasses instead of labelled bottled (eye opener). Don't you think it applies to other situations also. I think it does. People are more or less same, they think in similar ways, behave in similar ways, but still we keep them labeling. it is just some extreme situations, otherwise both you and me will behave likewise. I guess by differentiating among people, we ourselves creating divide, otherwise there is not need. Instead of creating personalities and identities, i believe understanding general human behavior, is more important. Hence if i dont know, what kind of person I am, its ok, even i am not required to. Mumbai

So….

Finally Its 1:17 past midnight, and despite the usual tension of going office in early morning I have sat here to write something, or to be more precise to waste your five minutes, if anyhow you can bear with the whole thing till the end.

Don’t really know where to start. Just completed one terrific year in probably the world’s most busiest and vibrant city called Mumbai, which initially I hated, but now in love with. Some things are most peculiar about it. Like all the busy people, who don’t have even proper time to eat, sit, talk (when you are not doing all this, I don’t know where you are busy…anyways). And the locals, who are always on time…whatever, and all such countless things. but then why I love this city….good question!!!

It is because the way it treats you, irrespective of anything. Local always welcome you. Even if you had a bad day in office…stock market has crashed…something bad happened to a friend…whatever….You are always welcomed in the same way as you were on any other day. Totally unknown hi-hello friends of local are always there woth there usual smiles. It doesn’t change like people, who are just victory followers. Same with marine drive, always as romantic sun set as ever; regardless of the whole world. Do I sound crazy!! may be; but these are the things which makes it a great city and something you can love.

One more idea I got to discuss which happened last night. In late night when returning from office, I was on andheri bridge. A beggar was asking for money to the people walking forth to me. Then he spared me and again started to the people behind me. OH, Shocked!!! do I look so unemotional that even a beggar don’t feel worth asking!! Why he spared me out of six people walking. Over-reacting!! This is the only word to describe it, but such things touches my heart very deeply. I wasted a whole day analyzing the same as a early signal of the bigger problem, still got nothing out of it.

So that’s it for today. Catch ya soon.
